Through my professional experience navigating institutional exchanges, I’ve learned that DGCX’s account structure is fundamentally different from what many retail traders might expect. DGCX isn’t a retail-focused broker; instead, it offers two main types of memberships, each with distinct qualifications and purposes. Broker Membership requires a substantial $75,000 application fee and is designed for licensed financial firms able to trade on behalf of clients—specifically, those who already have a valid SCA license. For me, the high cost and regulatory requirement make it clear that this is intended for established institutions rather than individual traders. On the other hand, Trade Membership costs $30,000 and restricts activity to proprietary or institutional trading—so, it allows members to trade solely for their own account. There’s no client handling permitted here, signifying that DGCX expects only seasoned participants with significant capital and technical resources. Importantly, neither membership offers the ease of opening a standard trading account that I would find at a typical retail broker, and the lack of traditional retail Forex/CFD access makes the bar to entry very high. From a risk perspective, because DGCX has no recognized international regulation and operates with significant entry requirements, I’m particularly cautious about involvement unless I or my institution fully understand and can fulfill those obligations. For individual traders, these account types are largely inaccessible, and the risks associated with high operational fees and withdrawal complaints reported by users warrant significant due diligence. For institutional traders equipped for such a market, the structure is logical, but for me or any retail participant, this exchange requires extra scrutiny and conservative judgment before considering any engagement.
