I have a great tool called the Economic Calendar.
After setting up an alert for important data, it pops up half an hour in advance, allowing me to catch major events like the non-farm payroll report and interest rate decisions. The only downside is that the alerts are so frequent that they even pop up for minor data, which can be a bit intrusive. It would be nice to have customizable filters.
