CBN opens OMO auctions to individuals and companies
The Central Bank of Nigeria has eased bank liquidity rules and opened Open Market Operations auctions to individuals, companies and non-bank financial institutions, effective immediately. Banks can now borrow from the Standing Lending Facility on the same day they trade in the foreign exchange market or participate in primary government securities auctions, while the CBN also restarted tenored repo operations of four to 90 days.
