Can I find out the fees associated with Interactive Brokers?
Interactive Brokers (IB) offers competitive and transparent fees, which is one of the reasons I enjoy using their platform. Their fee structure is tiered, meaning the more I trade, the lower my cost per share becomes. For example, if I trade fewer than 300,000 shares a month, I pay $0.0035 per share, but this can drop to as low as $0.0005 per share if I trade over 20 million shares. This tiered commission system benefits me greatly, especially as I trade more frequently. In addition, IB offers competitive spreads, especially in the forex market, where typical spreads for EUR/USD are between 0.1 to 0.3 pips. However, this fee structure can be confusing for newer traders, and it took me a little time to fully grasp how the tiered system works. Despite this, I find IB’s fees to be very reasonable, particularly if you're an active trader like myself who is able to take advantage of the lower commission rates with higher trading volumes.
