Gold price (XAU/USD) tumbles to near $4,320 during the early Asian session on Friday. The precious metal faces some selling pressure after the US Producer Price Index (PPI) inflation data and rising oil prices increased bets for a Federal Reserve (Fed) rate hike.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the US crude Oil benchmark, rises more than 7% as attacks in the Middle East intensify, driving WTI above the $ 100-per-barrel barrier for the first time since May 2026. At the time of writing, WTI trades at $103.86 after bouncing off lows of $95.37.

The US Dollar Index (DXY) reclaimed the 99.00 barrier and then some, rebounding firmly as the hot Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 5.4% over the year to August, hardening expectations for a Fed rate hike at next week's meeting.

Silver (XAG/USD) price erases Wednesday's gains and forms a bearish head-and-shoulders chart pattern on Thursday after the white metal tanks and breaks a support trendline around $64.00-$64.15, exacerbating the decline below $63.50. At the time of writing, XAG/USD trades at $63.72, down over 5.30%.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) Oil rallies nearly 5% on Thursday, climbing to its highest level since May 21 as escalating tensions in the Middle East raise fears of further disruption to already tight supplies. At the time of writing, WTI trades around $99 and is up about 10.50% so far this week.

Gold price retraces by about 0.90% on Thursday as traders price in a hawkish Federal Reserve (Fed) following the release of the US Producer Price Index (PPI) for August.

My current bias on USDJPY remains bearish, but I am not interested in selling at the current market price. After rejecting the weekly supply zone around 163.70–164.00, USDJPY delivered a strong bearish expansion. Price subsequently retraced into the 159.80–160.40 area, where it swept liquidity above the local highs before continuing lower. This move produced three important technical signals: • A clear break of the ascending trendline • A loss of the 155.00–155.20 support area • A bearish …

The EUR/USD pair attracts some dip-buyers during the Asian session on Thursday, though it lacks follow-through as traders seem hesitant ahead of the European Central Bank (ECB) meeting and the US Producer Price Index (PPI).

Gold (XAU/USD) attracts some buyers after a modest Asian session dip to sub-$4,400 levels. The upside, however, seems limited as traders might refrain from placing directional bets ahead of US inflation figures.

The NZD/USD pair gathers strength to around 0.5845 during the early Asian session on Thursday, bolstered by a softer US Dollar (USD). All eyes will be on the upcoming Producer Price Index (PPI) data due on Thursday.

The USD/CAD pair struggles to capitalize on the previous day's modest gains and consolidates just above the 1.3800 mark during the Asian session on Thursday. Traders seem hesitant and opt to wait for the release of US inflation figures before placing fresh directional bets.

Bank of Japan (BoJ) policy board member Kazuyuki Masu said on Thursday that the central bank expected to continue raising interest rates given current accommodative financial conditions.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil price depreciates after three days of gains, trading around $93.90 during Asian hours on Thursday.

A Reuters poll showed the Bank of Japan (BoJ) will hike interest rates to 1.25% at its September policy meeting and then to 1.75% in the second quarter (Q2) of 2027, earlier than previously expected, amid persistent concerns over broadening price pressures and Japanese Yen (JPY) weakness.

The Australian Dollar is virtually unchanged against the US Dollar on Wednesday amid a light economic calendar, with the US Treasury's announcement of a buyback for the September 10 auction boosting the Greenback. The AUD/USD trades at 0.7219, flat.
