Purpose

The Hong Kong foreign exchange market is a mature offshore foreign exchange market that developed in the 1970s. As one of the world’s major financial hubs, it boasts a free capital flow mechanism and a well-established industry regulatory system, attracting a large number of licensed and various types of forex-related traders from both home and abroad, making it a core hub for forex trading in the Asia-Pacific region. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual office conditions of forex brokers in this region, an on-site investigation team traveled to Hong Kong, China, for a field visit.

Process

This time, the on-site inspection team, as planned, visited the foreign exchange broker Zhongtai International in Hong Kong, China. According to publicly available information, its office address is 19th Floor, Li Po Chun Building, 189 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong.

They arrived smoothly at the Li Po Chun Building, situated in the core commercial district along Des Voeux Road Central in Hong Kong, where the surrounding environment is bustling and the business atmosphere is very vibrant. No company signage or information related to Zhongtai International was found on the exterior of the building, and the entire scene was fully documented with panoramic photos during this inspection.

Upon entering the lobby on the first floor, they explained their purpose to the security guard. After a brief communication and registration, they were granted permission to enter the building.

After reaching the target floor, the 19th floor, the inspection team did not find any conspicuous signage indicating the office area of Zhongtai International, nor were there any relevant security measures. Since the corresponding company entrance could not be located on the floor, they were unable to enter the premises. During this inspection, no reception desk or its logo was captured, and the space was not a shared office.

While attempting to observe from the public areas on the floor, they could not enter the company’s interior and thus could not obtain any information about the internal environment, decor style, or employee activities. Overall, the situation did not match the trader’s claim of operating from this location.

Upon arrival, they confirmed the address but found no information about the trader. After inquiring with the security guard, they were informed that no such company existed, leading to the conclusion that the claim was false. Therefore, the on-site inspection confirmed that the trader Zhongtai International does not exist at the aforementioned address.

Conclusion

The on-site verification team, as scheduled, visited the foreign exchange trader Zhongtai International in Hong Kong, China. At the publicly displayed business address, they did not find any information such as the company name of the trader, indicating that the trader does not have a genuine place of business. Investors are advised to make their choices after comprehensive consideration.
