CXM Wins Cambodia Licence as Gold Trading Surges
Abstract:CXM has secured a new foothold in Southeast Asia after obtaining a derivatives broker licence in Cambodia as gold trading attracted thousands of users and adding another dimension to competition among global foreign exchange and CFD providers.

CXM has secured a new foothold in Southeast Asia after obtaining a derivatives broker licence in Cambodia, while its push into round the clock gold trading is attracting thousands of users and adding another dimension to competition among global foreign exchange and CFD providers.
The company received licence number 042 from Cambodia‘s Securities and Exchange Regulator on August 12, allowing CXM Co., Ltd. to operate as a derivatives broker in the country. The company is listed in the regulator’s public register in Phnom Penh, marking a significant step in its efforts to build a regulated presence across the region.
For CXM, the Cambodian approval comes as international brokers increasingly look toward emerging Southeast Asian markets where digital financial services are expanding and younger populations are becoming more accustomed to online investment platforms.
CXM's Cambodian executive Alex Chua said the company intended to build its local business around transparency, service quality and regulatory compliance. The licence therefore represents more than an additional regulatory entry for the group, as it gives the broker a formal base from which to compete in a market that has attracted a growing number of international derivatives providers.
However, the regulatory label alone does not tell the entire story for investors. As of September 8, information publicly displayed by the Cambodian regulator did not show details relating to CXM's trading servers or customer fund accounts. Such information may be updated later, but investors opening accounts still need to establish which legal entity they are contracting with and understand how their money is held.
That distinction is particularly important because CXM operates through several corporate entities. CXM Prime Ltd is authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority under registration number 966753, although its regulatory classification covers professional clients and eligible counterparties rather than ordinary retail customers. The wider group also has entities in jurisdictions including Seychelles.
The expansion comes alongside a separate push to capture demand for gold trading outside conventional market hours. CXM's Gold 24/7 product allows customers to trade gold during weekends, when traditional gold markets are normally closed.
The product gained traction quickly. About 500 users reportedly traded during its first weekend, while trading volume reached US$1 million within two weeks. By the end of its first month in August, approximately 2,000 users had participated, pushing the product into CXM's top 20 trading products.
