As WikiEXPO Dubai concludes successfully, we had the pleasure of interviewing Ghadeer Ibrahim, the Market Analyst & CNBC Arabia Economic Editor. Ghadeer Ibrahim has over ten years of experience in the forex market as a market analyst. Throughout her career, she has conducted numerous educational seminars across the Middle East and appeared on several regional media outlets. She currently works as an economic editor and program producer at CNBC Arabia, where she covers key developments in global markets and economic trends.
Part 1: Media's Role and the Market Trends
1.As a financial journalist and market analyst, how do you see media shaping investor sentiment and financial literacy in the MENA region?
Media today plays a decisive role in shaping investor sentiment in the MENA region. With faster news cycles and increased market volatility, audiences rely heavily on credible economic coverage to interpret global events and make informed decisions. At CNBC Arabia, we focus on simplifying complex macro-economic narratives and providing real-time insights that empower both new and experienced investors. I believe that responsible financial journalism is one of the strongest tools for improving financial literacy and strengthening confidence in regional markets.
2. What market trends are currently drawing the most attention among retail and institutional investors?
Both retail and institutional investors are currently focused on three key themes: interest-rate trajectories, geopolitical risk, and the accelerated adoption of digital assets. The direction of central-bank policy, especially from the Federal Reserve, continues to influence regional capital flows. At the same time, geopolitical uncertainty is driving investors toward safe-haven assets. Finally, the rapid growth of tokenized products and AI-driven financial technologies is creating new opportunities that investors are closely monitoring.
3. Having hosted numerous educational seminars, what gaps do you still observe in traders understanding of forex dynamics?
One of the persistent gaps I notice is the limited understanding of macro-economic drivers behind currency movements. Many traders still focus heavily on short-term charts without fully integrating fundamentals such as interest-rate expectations, fiscal policy, and global risk sentiment. There is also a need for better discipline in risk management, especially during periods of high volatility. Educational efforts must continue to bridge these gaps and promote a more holistic approach to forex trading.
Part 2: Who act as a bridge
4.WikiEXPO unites thought leaders from across the financial world. What value do you see in such events for professional education and public awareness?
Events like WikiEXPO play a vital role in elevating professional education by connecting market experts, policymakers, and retail investors on one platform. They create an open space for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and exposure to global best practices. For the public, these events demystify financial markets and help individuals understand how global developments affect everyday economic decisions.
5.WikiFX emphasizes fair information and data-driven insights — how can financial media and research platforms collaborate to enhance transparency?
Collaboration between financial media and research platforms is essential for achieving a more transparent market ecosystem. Media outlets provide reach, context, and public trust, while research platforms contribute depth, analytics, and verified data. When these strengths are combined, audiences gain clearer, more comprehensive information that reduces misinformation and supports better investment decision-making.
6.Whats your vision for the future role of economic media in guiding responsible investing across emerging markets?
Economic media will increasingly act as a bridge between global financial developments and emerging-market realities. Our role will be to provide context-rich journalism that promotes long-term thinking, highlights risk factors, and empowers investors to make responsible decisions. As emerging markets continue to integrate with the global economy, the demand for transparent, educational, and data-backed reporting will grow stronger than ever.
