As an experienced independent trader, I approach new platforms like Specter.ai with a careful eye on all potential trading costs, especially for indices like the US100. My assessment of Specter.ai's model reveals several factors impacting total costs, which differ from standard leveraged forex or CFD brokers. With Specter.ai focusing on binary-style and EPIC contracts rather than traditional spot index trading, there are no classical spreads or commissions on entry for most major assets, US100 included, during periods of typical liquidity. This can be appealing, as true spread-free entry is rare, but it’s important to note the exceptions. For the US100 and similar indices, I’ve observed that during lower-liquidity periods (for example, late-evening GMT or ultra-short expiry windows), a small spread—ranging from 0.1 to 0.9 pips—may be imposed. While this appears minimal, it can subtly impact cumulative trading costs, especially for high-frequency strategies. The unique architecture—executing trades directly on the Ethereum blockchain—could also mean variable network (gas) fees, depending on congestion. In sum, for indices like the US100, the main direct trading cost comes from spreads during specific hours or trade types. Hidden costs are limited, but payment and crypto transaction fees, plus potential blockchain network fees, should not be overlooked. For me, these factors collectively determine the real cost of trading indices on this platform. Given the absence of traditional regulation and the innovative—but unconventional—setup, I advise taking a meticulous and conservative approach to cost assessment before committing significant capital.
