Based on my review of Phillip Securities Group, I found that while the broker is well-regulated under Hong Kong’s SFC and offers a broad spectrum of trading instruments, including forex and futures, it does not currently provide indices, such as the US100, as tradable products. This detail is important, as it affects the overall assessment of trading costs for indices specifically. In my own due diligence, I always attempt to confirm instrument availability directly through a broker’s listed offerings before considering trading conditions or cost structures, and in this case, indices are not featured among their supported products. For other asset classes they do provide, such as stocks, futures, and forex, I noted the commission structures and additional fees are outlined with relative transparency. For example, with US stocks, trading costs include per-share commissions and clearing fees, while Hong Kong stocks involve percentage-based brokerage and several exchange-imposed fees. However, since indices like the US100 (NASDAQ100) are not available to trade with this broker, I cannot provide a breakdown of trading costs for those products. For anyone prioritizing index trading, it is crucial to select a broker that explicitly offers those instruments with clear, detailed cost disclosures. This caution in instrument verification helps avoid confusion and unexpected limitations in your trading strategy.
