In my experience reviewing and interacting with brokers, a key factor I always verify is the cost structure—especially when considering ECN or raw spread accounts, since these usually charge commissions per lot traded rather than marking up the spread. However, based on the information currently available about Standard Bank, I wasn’t able to find any reference to ECN or raw spread account types, nor any specific mention of per-lot trading commissions for forex or CFDs. The only fee that is clearly outlined is an administration fee of 20 basis points and a small deposit fee (US$0.05), while transaction fees are noted as being absent on their proprietary Webtrader platform. For me, the absence of both details on account types like ECN and explicit information about trading commissions makes it impossible to clearly determine whether commission is charged per traded lot. Additionally, the lack of regulatory oversight and detailed transparency about spreads, commissions, or execution methods increases my caution. As an experienced trader, I am always wary of platforms that aren’t fully transparent with their fee schedules since costs can impact strategy profitability and risk management. Therefore, I would personally need to see direct confirmation from official broker documentation or support before assuming ECN or raw account commission policies with Standard Bank. I advise anyone considering this broker to exercise significant caution and seek clarity directly if commission structure is a decisive factor.
