As an experienced trader who has looked closely at JaneStreet, I can say that this firm's services are fundamentally different from those of standard forex brokers that retail traders are familiar with. JaneStreet is a private liquidity provider and quantitative trading firm, operating mainly for institutional clients and on over 200 electronic markets. Unlike traditional brokers, JaneStreet does not offer standard retail accounts, access to platforms like MT4 or MT5, or a published “minimum deposit” for individuals who want to open an account. This is a critical distinction. For me, the absence of retail services means there is no clear way for an individual trader to set up a conventional live trading account or deposit any specific minimum amount. Instead, JaneStreet's infrastructure, trading platforms, and expertise are geared toward proprietary quantitative trading with in-house-built systems, and their activity is regulated in Hong Kong for futures contracts. The firm does not advertise any public account opening requirements, and their operations are tailored strictly to institutional or highly specialized counterparties rather than individual or retail traders. In summary, as someone actively engaged in the industry, I would advise that there is no defined minimum deposit because JaneStreet does not service retail clients in the way typical brokers do. For the average independent trader, JaneStreet is not a viable platform for live trading account setup or deposit.
