Based on my direct experience and thorough research, DEGIRO only supports traditional manual bank transfers for both deposits and withdrawals. When I joined DEGIRO, it became clear that funding your account can only be done by transferring funds from your registered bank account, and deposits via credit cards, PayPal, Skrill, or cryptocurrencies are simply not offered. In practice, this means deposits typically take 2-3 working days to reach your account, which is noticeably slower compared to brokers that allow for instant funding via e-wallets or credit cards. For withdrawals, you are only able to withdraw uninvested cash—not funds currently tied up in open positions—and these, too, are processed solely to your registered bank account, usually within 2-4 working days. For someone trading actively, particularly in the fast-paced forex market, this limited flexibility might be restrictive. I understand the risk mitigation intention behind restricting transfers to bank accounts—it’s a conservative approach that can potentially reduce fraud—but it does come at the cost of convenience and speed often expected from modern brokers. Importantly, if instant deposits and versatile withdrawal options are essential to your trading style, or you frequently move funds between platforms, this could be a significant drawback. For me, the lack of options besides manual bank transfer means longer wait times and less fluid account management, so it’s vital to factor this into your choice of broker.
