As someone who approaches every broker with careful scrutiny, especially when considering my personal trading capital, I always look for transparent and detailed information about trading costs—spreads, in particular, can strongly affect overall profitability. With Standard Bank, I was unable to find any clear disclosure of typical spreads for major currency pairs such as EUR/USD. Notably, the broker does not provide explicit information on their spread structure or average figures for a standard account, either on the public pages or in the available trading documentation. While Standard Bank does have a fairly extensive offering of tradable instruments and the reputation of a well-established financial institution in South Africa, their forex offering through the Webtrader platform remains somewhat opaque in key areas. The lack of regulatory oversight adds a further element of risk for me, as vital details like average spreads and fee structures are not independently verified or clearly published. This means I would have to be particularly cautious and perhaps consider reaching out directly for precise numbers, but even then, I would consider the lack of transparent public data a significant drawback. My trading strategy relies on consistency and clarity, especially with something as fundamental as EUR/USD spreads. Without this information from Standard Bank, it’s difficult for me to accurately factor costs into my risk management. Personally, I’m hesitant to commit funds where major trading conditions remain unclear.
