The spreads at Interactive Brokers (IB) are very competitive, especially in the forex market. For major forex pairs like EUR/USD, the typical spread ranges from 0.1 to 0.3 pips, which is tighter than many brokers I’ve used. I appreciate these narrow spreads because they help me keep my trading costs low, especially on high-frequency trades. However, I’ve noticed that spreads can widen during times of market volatility, which is something to keep in mind. For example, during major economic news releases, spreads might temporarily increase. While this is common across the industry, I find that IB’s spreads remain generally competitive and are among the best I’ve encountered. For me, tight spreads are essential, and IB delivers on that front consistently.
