Purpose

The foreign exchange market of Hong Kong, China, is a regional international foreign exchange market that developed in the 1970s. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual operations of foreign exchange dealers in the region, the on-site visit team traveled to Hong Kong, China, to conduct on-site verification.

Process

In this visit, the team went to Hong Kong, China as planned to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker MFM. According to public information, its office address is Unit 1204, 12th Floor, Hing Yip Commercial Centre, 272 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong.

The professional and experienced inspection team, with the sense of mission to strictly vet investors, went to Hong Kong, China according to a meticulous plan. They carried out an on-site verification of the broker MFM claiming to be located at Unit 1204, 12th Floor, Hing Yip Commercial Centre, 272 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong.

The inspection personnel successfully arrived at the building Hing Yip Commercial Centre. The location is along Des Voeux Road Central in the core of Hong Kong Island, surrounded by contiguous clusters of commercial office buildings, with a very strong commercial atmosphere. No signage information related to broker MFM was found outside the building, and a full view of the building could be fully observed and recorded.

The inspection personnel entered the building lobby, stated their purpose to the security guard, and after basic visitor registration, successfully obtained permission to enter the interior of the building.

After arriving on the target 12th floor, the inspection personnel checked the location of Room 1204 section by section, and found no obvious signage in the office area of MFM; the floor directory board for the entire floor also did not indicate the broker's relevant name. Because the office premises in the corresponding area of that floor were not open to the public, they could not enter to inspect the interior. Throughout the process, no front desk or front desk LOGO was photographed, and the premises were not a shared office either.

Through the exterior glass of the office area, the corresponding internal environment of the broker could not be observed, and there were no traces of employee activity belonging to MFM on site. The overall situation was completely inconsistent with the office address positioning publicly claimed by the broker.

Upon arrival, the address was confirmed to be correct, but no information about the broker was found. When the security guard was asked, they said there was no such company, and it was judged that the broker did not exist at the above address.

Conclusion

The visit team went to Hong Kong, China as planned to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker MFM. At the business address it publicly displays, they were unable to see the broker's company name or other information, indicating that the broker does not have a real business premises. Investors are advised to make their choice after comprehensive consideration.
